Welcome to the Still Blue Project, an online showcase dedicated to imaginative writing, short fiction, memoir, essays, poems (and work that doesn’t fit the categories) by, for, or about working-class queers.

In keeping with the philosophy of the print anthologies Blue, Too: More Writing by (for or about) Working-Class Queers (2014) and Everything I Have Is Blue: Short Fiction by Working-Class Men about More-or-Less Gay Life (2005), the Still Blue Project has a dual purpose.

First, to forge connections, using creative writing, among working-class queers across race, geography, and gender.

And, second, to provide an ongoing forum for working-class writing that speaks meaningfully about working-class queer lives from writers of all genders and sexual orientations.

The Still Blue Project is hungry for writing that illuminates our realities, our struggles, and our resistance to assimilation and mental gentrification. We think you are, too.

Enjoy the work you find here — and then go out and write some more!
